Wild Orchid Asian Bistro
Hidden but worth finding, this Zen-inspired bistro and lounge offers stylish (but not stuffy) dining. Warm colours, flowers and Oriental antiques evoke the ambiance of the East, while the Ha Ling Peak and Rundle Range view is pure Canmore. Free marshmallows for roasting are provided on the large mountain-facing patio with BBQ pit. Osaka-trained chef Shogo Sawada expertly fuses Japanese, Thai, Chinese and Korean flavours into original, artfully presented, cuisine that CBC and Calgary Herald food critic John Gilchrist calls “some of the best Asian food we’ve ever had.”
