The Rose & Crown

Canmore’s Rose and Crown has lived many lives in its 30 years, but current owners create a buzz by offering “traditional English fare with new world flair.” Items such as Guinness-braised lamb shank prove the Rose tempts with more than their famous beer-battered fish and chips. The family friendly dining room with photos of local landscapes offers a warm atmosphere, while the wood-finished, tavern-style pub is the spot to meet friends and play pool or darts. The large, tree-shaded patio by Policeman’s Creek with kids’ play area is mere steps from Main Street; it’s a secluded downtown oasis.

  1. Charlie C. says:

The Rose and Crown is a well-established joint in town. I’ve often quaffed their fish and chips and drank their Guinness draughts. On the negative side, I’ve noticed the service has really started to go downhill as of late; the interior could also use a good scrub and a bit of reno work. Overall, I think the Rose and Crown is a diamond in the rough in need of a good polishing.
