The Grizzly Paw

Since opening in 1996, the Canadian Rockies’ original brew pub has been a fixture of Canmore’s dining and nightlife scene. Its wood interior and three fireplaces (upstairs, downstairs and on the patio) exude warmth. Sports show on 8 plasma televisions. Their sunny, heated patio with main street and mountain views is a great place to meet friends. But the pillar of The Paw’s success is their award-winning micro-brewery, which has recently expanded. They even incorporate their own beer-infused BBQ and hot sauces into some dishes. Visit their shop for off-sales and souvenirs.

  1. Frommy says:

Both the food and the in-house brewed beer were great, and service was quite good. I love the Alberta version of a steak sandwich. Can highly recommend this one.

  2. George says:

Great pub food, great beer, great service. A local favourite.

  3. Samantha Tait says:

Morning after my wedding they refused to sit us all together even though it wasn’t busy. Took forever to get our food and when we did our appys came at the same time as our meals and one meal was missing. Got a rude response from our server and when I went to speak with a manager another server nearly booted a door into me. Terrible service.

  4. James says:

My girlfriend and I went here for supper about a month ago. I quite enjoyed my meal, the classic Canadian burger, but she disliked hers, the fish and chips. She said she could tell the fish had been previously frozen. The waitress was quite friendly. It was also fairly noisy inside, and talking to each other was difficult because of it. I’ll probably go here again on a less busy day, or opt for a patio seat instead.
